Angela C. Vandeventer grew up in Villa Grove, IL. After graduating from Villa Grove High School in 2000, she attended Parkland College on a Trustee’s Scholarship. Angie went on to major in Psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in 2004.
Upon graduating from the University of Illinois, Angie began the pursuit of her Juris Doctorate degree at Southern Illinois University College of Law. She worked for the University Ombudsman’s Office, assisting and advising students who were facing suspension or expulsion from the university. Additionally, Angie worked in the family law arena at Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation in Carbondale, IL, in the summer of 2006. Following graduation, she accepted a position with Blitt and Gaines, P.C. and worked as an Associate attorney for approximately 7 years. During the course of this employment, Angie served as downstate counsel for a large law firm in the Chicago area and focused on commercial litigation and contract law. This position gave her the opportunity to litigate in twenty-seven counties across Central Illinois. In April 2014, Angie proudly joined the law firm of Armstrong, Grove & Shoaff LLC. In July 2014, Angie happily agreed to assist Cara Shoaff with the establishment of Shoaff Law, LLC. In August 2015, Angie became a partner in the firm creating Shoaff & Vandeventer, LLC. At this time, Angie will be shifting her focus to those areas of the law that have always piqued her interest–estate planning, estate administration, guardianships, trusts, and trust administration. Angie is also a court approved mediator.
