What are your hours? Our Casey office is open Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and is closed from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. for lunch. Our Charleston and Marshall offices are open Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m and are closed from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. for lunch. If our normal business hours do not fit your schedule for an appointment, please call and we will do our best to find a mutually convenient time.
Is there a fee for the first meeting or phone call? Yes. We do not provide free consultations unless previously agreed to by the Attorney. Our current hourly rate is $200.00 per hour.
I am not sure I can afford to pay my bill in a lump sum. Do you allow payment plans? Our Attorneys will work with you and determine a payment schedule to fit your budget as well as ensure your outstanding bill is paid in a timely manner. Payment plans are done on a case by case basis and will need to be discussed with the attorney at the time of your initial meeting.
How much will it cost to have a Will drawn up? Since each estate plan is tailored specifically for each individual, it is difficult to provide an estimate on cost. Some plans are very straight forward and simple while others require a more sophisticated approach. Our Attorneys will be able to give you a better idea of total cost after your initial meeting and review of your assets.
Do you handle 1031 exchanges? Yes. We are well versed in 1031 exchange transactions.
I am not sure if my parent’s estate will require Probate. Can you help? Yes. We are more than happy to meet with you to review your parent’s assets and estate information. Our Attorneys will be able to provide you guidance on the next steps, whether it be probate or non-probate, to make the business side of things flow as smoothly as possible during this difficult time.
I want to gift some of my real estate. Can you help? Yes. Please set up an appointment with one of our Attorneys and bring any documents you have regarding the property you would like to gift. We will assist in preparing the necessary documents as well as providing you guidance on follow up steps come tax time.
Do I need an attorney to sell my house or farm ground? It is typically advised if a realtor is not involved. As soon as you have found a Buyer, we are able to assist with all other aspects of the sale – from preparation of the Contract to coordinating the closing date.
